    greenbelt-logo

    Time: 7:00 PM

    Where: Shelburne Legion, Front Hall
    203 William Street,
    Shelburne

    The Greenbelt or Development?

What is the impact of development on our Municipal governments?

How does the Greenbelt impact development?

NDACT has invited expert guests to provide their prospective:

    Philip Loring

    • a social scientist at The University of Guelph
    • has interests in food systems and security, community sustainability and social environmental justice
    • in his research he collaborates with First Nations in Alaska, and Western and Arctic Canada on projects related to conflict, climate change adaptation and social justice in coastal community food systems

    Mayor Darren White

    • Melancthon Mayor and former Reeve of Dufferin County

    • will provide his personal insights as to why municipalities tend to be pro-development

    Free admission and refreshments.
    Everyone welcome.

  • OMAFRA Survey - your input is needed

The Ontario government wants to know what you think about extracting aggregate on prime agricultural land. (We believe we sent that message loud and clear during the Mega Quarry fight!) The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) has helped prepare a short questionnaire for farmers, stakeholders, academics, aggregate producers and YOU to provide some input.

The deadline is next Friday, October 2nd!

If some of the questions are not within your area of expertise, skip them. But please weigh in.

There are great questions about whether stringent soil studies,
monitoring of sites and rehabilitation are critical.
    Check √. Check √. Check √.

Please feel free to share it!
