Soupstock brings 200 chefs to Toronto for culinary protest

Mega-culinary event to stop controversial Mega-Quarry set for Woodbine Park, October 21st

TORONTO – On October 21st, the Canadian Chefs’ Congress and David Suzuki Foundation will
host Soupstock, a mega-culinary event to raise awareness about the fight to stop the Highland
Companies’ proposed limestone Mega-Quarry in the Township of Melancthon, 100 kilometres
northwest of Toronto.


The event will feature more than 200 Canadian chefs, some of Canada’s best, including Jamie
Kennedy, Anthony Walsh and John Higgins, who will concoct original soup creations to celebrate
the Melancthon region’s rich agricultural, cultural and natural history.
